Syed Hamid Raza has a substantial experience of over 22 years in the field of agricultural commodities inspection, testing and collateral management services. He has worked with SGS Pakistan for 14 years in Agricultural Services and was overseeing the cereals, pulses and oilseeds inspection business. He then worked for AGD Pakistan (ACE Global Depository Group) as Technical Support Services Manager for 5 years and managed the State Bank of Pakistan’s funded Pilot Projects on Warehouse Receipt Financing (first of its kind project in Pakistan). His last appointment was with Pakistan Agricultural Coalition as Project Development Manager where he led design and implementation of multiple pilots on collateral management conducted with HBL Bank on wheat in Muridke (2017), BankIslami on Super Basmati paddy in Muridke (2017) and with MCB Bank, BankIslami and FINCA Microfinance Bank on Maize in Okara (2018). He also successfully scaled-up electronic trading of red chillies through PMEX Platform in 2016 season. He also helped in designing and developing the value chain mapping for multiple crops (including post-harvest handling and storage services). He has also worked as consultant with Asian Development Bank (ADB) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Mr. Raza completed his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Karachi University. He is also a certified ISO 9001:2008 lead auditor. He has received several local and international trainings from India, UAE and Thailand. He also holds the Grade II diploma from The Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFT), UK.
